Choir

“Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.” Psalm 30:4 ESV

The Louisa Presbyterian Church Choir, under the musical direction of Kelly Grooms, consists of 14-17 members dedicated to singing the Lord's praises.  This music ministry enhances the weekly worship service and special evening services by delivering God's word through the beautiful gift of song.  Varied styles of music are included in the choir's repertoire including classical works, old time gospel, and traditional Christian music. Come and join us as we lift our voices to the Lord in praise for his wondrous deeds and the mighty works of His hands!

Choir Rehearsals

The choir rehearses on every other Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Bi-annually, the choir joins together for 1 1/2 day retreat at the church to ready themselves for the Easter & Christmas seasons, play musical games, fellowship and eat together, and to increase their musicality.  Each December, the choir spreads Christmas cheer by caroling to friends, shut-ins, and local nursing homes.  Please check the sub-topic "Choir Member Info" link on this page for more information on rehearsals and upcoming anthems.

Prayer Companions

Prayer Companions is a Wednesday Morning prayer group. We meet each week to share our prayer requests and updates on past prayer requests. We also have covenanted to pray for one another, for each member of the church, for the church and its mission and ministries, for our nation, our leaders and for the world. Companions are also encouraged to share their own prayers and scripture texts that have impacted and shaped their faith. Please join us Wednesday morning or you can send a prayer request to the following email; louisapres@verizon.net.

Presbytery of the James Pilgrimage (PJP)

"Pilgrimage" is a 3-day weekend of spiritual renewal which seeks to guide Christians into a closer walk with Christ, creating a deeper and more personal relationship with our Lord.  It provides an opportunity to refresh and re-energize one's faith.  Pilgrimage utilizes structured, purposefully designed methods including worship, song, laughter, fellowship, communion, personal devotion and reflection.  It is organized around a series of talks that seek to enhance and expand the Christian life.  If you are interested in more information, there are several "pilgrims" at Louisa Presbyterian who would enthusiastically talk with you about their experience and/or about the possibility of your future attendance.  The next Pilgrimage is scheduled for October 2009. For applications and/or for some answers to frequently asked questions, please check the following website: http://pjpilgrimage.org/website.htm.
